Creamy Pasta and Spicy Thyme Chicken

It's the 7th day of the month.. Yeyy..

I'm a June baby and this month is always special to me ♥

I have been receiving daily presents from my husband and today I decided to surprise him instead.. I told him I'll be preparing something so he won't buy anything outside.

As y'all know, I'm a pasta lover. I've been experimenting sauce for my pasta; ever since I uncovered this passion of mine with cooking... and so far (I think?) I'm doing good with it. I mostly like oil-based and pesto's (but) my husband has this thing with red and tomato sauce. Don't get me wrong, I love all types of sauce, it's just that if I'll be giving a rate to each type, I'll picked the oil-based as my top 1... and the least? creamy sauce...

But for today's dish... I'll be making my least favorite... Cream based Pasta.

Creamy Pasta with Spicy Chicken in Thyme

♥

Ingredients:

400 gms. Spaghetti
250 ml All Purpose Cream
160 ml (170 gms.) Evaporated Milk
2 cans Tuna Flakes in Oil
a leash of Parsley
184 gms. Whole Mushroom
1 c Shrimp
Shrimp Broth (add half a cup of hot water into the shrimp head and smashed it)
1/2 c Bacon
1/2 c Grated Cheese (emmentel & gouda cheese) or Parmesan
2 Cheddar Cheese Slices
5 cloves of Garlic
1 t Garlic Powder
Chili Powder
Salt & Pepper
Olive Oil
Butter

 Side dish:
450 gms. Chicken Breast
1 T Thyme
Chili Powder
Salt & Pepper
1 T Soy Sauce

♥

Spaghetti Cooking Instructions:

Cook spaghetti in 1 L of boiling water. Add salt and oil. Stir occasionally and cook until tender. Drain well and set aside. Once it cool down, drizzle with olive oil.

Sauce:

 1. Heat a deep wok and drizzle it with olive oil. Then, fry the shrimp first and set aside once cooked.

2. Next will be the sliced whole mushroom. Again, set it aside.

3. Next, fry and crisp the sliced bacon. Then, set aside as well once cooked.

4. Saute garlic in butter. Then,

5. Add chopped chicken breast. Once brown, add the mushroom.

6. Add 2 cans of Tuna Flakes in Oil. Simmer until it boils.
Then,

 7. Add Shrimp Broth and simmer for 5 minutes.

8. Add salt, pepper, chili and garlic powder. Let boil again for another 2-3 minutes.

9. Add all purpose cream and stir until all ingredients mixed well. Then,

 10. Prepare your finely chopped parsley and add it to the mixture.
Adding the veges beforehand will extract it's juice and adds up flavor to the sauce.

 11. Then, add the shrimp and
bacon.
Let boil for another 2 minutes then add

grated cheese and
evaporated milk.
Again, let boil for a minute or two.

Stir gently just to make sure that the sauce will not stick to the bottom of the wok.
Taste the sauce and adjust the flavor to your liking.

♥♥♥

While cooking the sauce, I heated up the grilling pan as well. Added a spoonful of olive oil and once it's hot enough, I laid the chicken to cook.

♥♥♥

I prepared a tropical cocktail to go along with the dish.
It's just a powdered juice mixture and I only added a fresh grape fruit and squeeze a lemon.

6 pcs Grapes
2 slices of Lemon

So, here's our dinner... served with L♥ve!

It's my turn to surprise him this time... (and just this day for the whole month haha)

I hope you can try this dish too..
Enjoy and remember, food prepared at home is always the best ♥

All about 'Nails' πŸ’…

My November Nail Addiction...

I was obsessed with nail acrylics months back and the idea of getting mine done with a coffin outline. I've watched videos of how to apply acrylics and the designs you can make out of it.

My favorite YouTube nail artist are Naio Nails and Suzie, the woman behind Nail Career Education. If you're the type of person who loves edgy and artsy sculpted nail designs, you need to see Naio Nails artwork.  And if you're into posh and sophisticated look, go for Suzie.

So, I went to one of these posh beauty salon in Sharjah and had my nails done in acrylic. I'm not sure if they had a promotion at that time but mine cost around 150AED. I tried calling other shops too and most of them offers acrylic nails starting 250AED depending on the design you'll choose.

I chose the cheapest since I only wanted to try it. I can't afford to pay much then have them remove after just because I'm uncomfortable with it - you know what I mean?

Off I went to Damas Beauty Center.

#notmyphoto

When I went inside, I was greeted by a Filipina receptionist 😍. There were a lot of customers that time and I was next on the list for acrylic or extension application. I waited for 30 minutes (I think) since they only have 1 nail technician that day (and I'm not sure if she's the only one working for acrylics or whatnot).

So while waiting, I decided to take a few snap of the place...

The inside is very elegant. I was amazed of how they decorated the place; it fits for a Princess.

The salon is spacious and they offer different services to their clients. A beauty haven for someone vain from head to toe.

If I get a chance to visit the place again, I'll make sure to take a few more shots and discuss services and offers from their management so I can share it with you. I'll make a separate blog for it with all necessary details you needed before getting one done for yourself.

Take note, acrylic extensions normally lasts 2-3 weeks depending on how you maintain them and the type of nails you have, of course.

Acrylics applied to my nails without the colored polish.
Application would usually take 1 hour or so.
I opt not to cut the length and decided to have it as it is when it was applied on top of my real nails; then the technician had it filed instead to fix the edges.
It look SO REAL!

The cut is what you called a 'Coffin Nails'.
Mine is on dark mocha color.
If you choose to have a nail art or french gel tips, you have to pay extra.

After a week, I decided to change the color. haha
Tadahhh... Gold!
I painted it myself.

Which is something I regret... After a few days, the middle nail accidentally cracked while I'm doing the laundry. I think what I did ruined the top coat or protection applied by the tech.
Since I can't afford to let go of it yet, I decided to use a fake nail instead on my middle finger.
Still looks good though!

I think I had the nails on for 2 weeks and decided to get rid of it already. I should have opted to cut the nails to medium length rather than have it that long?! I can't do anything... πŸ˜‚πŸ˜…

It's something I've learned in the process. The next time I'll have it done, it would be something I am sure I'll wear for a long period of time.

Overall, I love how my nails was done at that time. And if you'll ask me if I'll go back there for another beauty sesh? Sure thing I will ♥

Experience Singapore Airlines πŸ›ͺ

Travel with ease and comfort...

That's what we're looking forward on a trip.

Every time I travel, I would usually book my flight with one of our local airlines back home. But this time it's different. Months back, my husband and I contested which airline I should take for my trip. I read blogs, forum, and reviews to check out the best airlines there is.

After so many discussions and all... we decided to book Singapore Airlines. Yes, it's my first time to try it... plus, after booking a flight you'd hear news of 'the plane' caught on πŸ”₯? I was like... 'Oh my' but hey... I am so thankful with all the good reviews I read about them. Theirs are the one's with best experienced pilots and amazing stewards!

'You know when your husband is so paranoid getting local airlines for a long trip abroad? haha' I've tried local airlines on my international trips before and I think it's okay tooπŸ˜‰ But just to... you know... avoid arguments and all... Just go with what he likes to have haha

Oh well... I'm glad I agreed with him! It's one of the best flights I have had. Never mind the long hours spent and the layover... It's a fun (boring-less???) time spent up in the air!

The flight was booked via Travelwings.com; a travel agency based in UAE. We had the ticket issued by June 26th of this year and the flight was then scheduled 13th the following month (Wednesday).

Here's my flight details πŸ‘†

Everything went well and smooth. 😚 **beck and call!

I made sure everything is all set on that day. From the Philippine immigration up until I reach my destination.(insert) ---> I'm thinking of making a separate entry for my paper processing (the visa and all) until my airport encounter back home up to UAE.

As you can see, I had a layover for this trip; from Manila to SG to UAE. I agreed for that as I was supposed to meet one of my best friends who's now residing in Singapore and also my ex-Vz colleague. Bad for me, neither of it I was able to do 😁 The SG airport people is not allowing me to pass through since I only have a 3-hour waiting time until my next flight; I was told that they usually allow you to enter 'SG ground' (literally) if your layover time is about 5 hours or more. I was okay with it, though. At least I had all the time to check one of the world's finest airport 😲

** Actually, It was I who chose that 3-hour time SG layover thinking that I'd still be able to meet them inside the airport. I never thought that I still have to pass through the immigration just to meet them hehe I did not choose the 24-hour one (as I'm too excited to meet my hubby πŸ˜‚) and besides, I already visited the country years back with my relatives.

I really enjoyed that short flight to SG ♥ I befriended someone and had a short chit-chat along the way.

My breakfast for the day!
(Their air ticket includes meal)

I only had a few photos taken inside the SG airport and I wasn't able to explore it that much 😿

This is what welcomed me  πŸ’“
(one of the many waiting lounge area)

And the mandatory toilet photo πŸ˜‹
There's more...

And off I stroll and stroll and stroll... until I found this **MY PANDORA L♥VE
Actually, I got lost haha You know, when that voice-thing telling you to go into that specific gate and realized they made a mistake and tells you ** to go back where you're at in the first place?! after you walked for what seems like forever? Dang**

Look how clear I took this photo πŸ˜…

Well... my photographing 'skills' did not give justice to how fascinating this airport is...

πŸ’’πŸ’’πŸ’’πŸ’’πŸ’’πŸ’’πŸ’’πŸ’’πŸ’’πŸ’’

Now...
Off to my most awaited flight!
15:10 - SIN to DXB

I then went to the waiting area near my gate and waited for another 30 minutes or so until my boarding lounge opens. Yes, they had this 'waiting section' apart from the actual boarding lounge... how cool is that?! 😍 (sorry though, I don't have a photo of it... my bad)

I took the economy class and got lucky as there were only a few passengers in my flight.

See this? I had it all to myself haha
We're even allowed to choose our preferred seats 😎

Selfie first...

I made my area comfy by pulling up all the arm rest so I can lie down. I didn't take a nap the whole flight and preferred a movie marathon instead. I watched 4 movies, I guess? **If I remember it right!

They allow you to take home the earphones... so I have 2 of them lol

Here's comes the most amazing part for me.
I think I had 4 meals at that time haha

1st set - Refreshment

Then after 30 minutes or so they'll ask you if you'd like a drink... I had red wine and peanuts.

Dinner time...

And my dessert... KitKat Ice Cream...

I took a photo of their Menu (sorry if it's not that clear 😽

You can even ask for drinks any time you want... and it's for free. Everything is free.
(Tea... coffee... alcohol... water... etc.)
**yeah I know it's with the air ticket we paid.. but some airlines charge you extra if you ask additional drink...

My overall experience is great. I told my husband about it and he was pretty impressed. He traveled and tried other airlines too; what I told him about my experience with Singapore Airlines piqued his curiosity. πŸ’“

Thank you #singaporeairlines and till our next journey together πŸ’“πŸ’–πŸ’“
