Creamy Pasta and Spicy Thyme Chicken

It's the 7th day of the month.. Yeyy..

I'm a June baby and this month is always special to me ♥

I have been receiving daily presents from my husband and today I decided to surprise him instead.. I told him I'll be preparing something so he won't buy anything outside.

As y'all know, I'm a pasta lover. I've been experimenting sauce for my pasta; ever since I uncovered this passion of mine with cooking... and so far (I think?) I'm doing good with it. I mostly like oil-based and pesto's (but) my husband has this thing with red and tomato sauce. Don't get me wrong, I love all types of sauce, it's just that if I'll be giving a rate to each type, I'll picked the oil-based as my top 1... and the least? creamy sauce...

But for today's dish... I'll be making my least favorite... Cream based Pasta.

 Creamy Pasta with Spicy Chicken in Thyme

Ingredients:

400 gms. Spaghetti

250 ml All Purpose Cream

160 ml (170 gms.) Evaporated Milk

2 cans Tuna Flakes in Oil

a leash of Parsley

184 gms. Whole Mushroom

1 c Shrimp

Shrimp Broth (add half a cup of hot water into the shrimp head and smashed it)

1/2 c Bacon

1/2 c Grated Cheese (emmentel & gouda cheese) or Parmesan

2 Cheddar Cheese Slices

5 cloves of Garlic

1 t Garlic Powder

Chili Powder

Salt & Pepper

Olive Oil

Butter

 

 Side dish:

450 gms. Chicken Breast

1 T Thyme

Chili Powder

Salt & Pepper

1 T Soy Sauce

Spaghetti Cooking Instructions:

 

 Cook spaghetti in 1 L of boiling water. Add salt and oil. Stir occasionally and cook until tender. Drain well and set aside. Once it cool down, drizzle with olive oil.

Sauce:

 1. Heat a deep wok and drizzle it with olive oil. Then, fry the shrimp first and set aside once cooked.

2. Next will be the sliced whole mushroom. Again, set it aside.

3. Next, fry and crisp the sliced bacon. Then, set aside as well once cooked.

4. Saute garlic in butter. Then,

5. Add chopped chicken breast. Once brown, add the mushroom.

 

6. Add 2 cans of Tuna Flakes in Oil. Simmer until it boils.

Then,

 7. Add Shrimp Broth and simmer for 5 minutes.

8. Add salt, pepper, chili and garlic powder. Let boil again for another 2-3 minutes.

9. Add all purpose cream and stir until all ingredients mixed well. Then, 

 10. Prepare your finely chopped parsley and add it to the mixture. 

Adding the veges beforehand will extract it's juice and adds up flavor to the sauce.

 11. Then, add the shrimp and

bacon.

Let boil for another 2 minutes then add

grated cheese and

evaporated milk.

Again, let boil for a minute or two.

Stir gently just to make sure that the sauce will not stick to the bottom of the wok. 

Taste the sauce and adjust the flavor to your liking.

While cooking the sauce, I heated up the grilling pan as well. Added a spoonful of olive oil and once it's hot enough, I laid the chicken to cook.

I prepared a tropical cocktail to go along with the dish.

It's just a powdered juice mixture and I only added a fresh grape fruit and squeeze a lemon.

2 slices of Lemon

So, here's our dinner... served with L♥ve!

It's my turn to surprise him this time... (and just this day for the whole month haha)

Rimmel London The Only 1 Matte Lipstick

I've been hooked into YouTube for months now and I never thought it would be that fun watching someone else's life, likes and stuff...

And I even find myself following some of them too...

Until one day, I came across several makeup YouTubers... 

That's when my addiction to makeup started (again).

I love makeup ever since; especially back in college and by the time I graduated. I would sometimes received makeups abroad from my mom's sisters. I don't often wear them though. Mostly, I like using it to do other's makeup. I would ask my sisters, friends and their friends if I can do their prom makeup or graduation... I would get paid sometimes too...

Back then I used to love Mary Kay's. I find their makeups amazing! I only don't get to have MK's makeup products, but at the same time I'd get stuffs like mirrors, umbrellas etc.

But those are for free... mostly gifts from my aunts hehe

I remember the very first MK I bought with my own money... it was a red lipstick... then, a makeup brush set and a bag... and so on.

I think MK products started my addiction to makeups, particularly... lipsticks. If you've been following my blogs you'll know how I'm obsessed with it.

So, when I first arrived here in UAE, I went to a makeup store near my place. I hoard a lot of makeup products (of course that is after watching makeup youtubers raving about their collections haha). The store I went to doesn't have that much selections ** unlucky. If I remember it right, they only have 2 stalls of makeups; Max Faxtor and Rimmel London. I haven't heard of the latter since it's not available in the Philippines (and I'm not a fan of online and youtube thingy before)... so I do not know that thing exist at all. This SA went up to me and said, "Try this one, it's Rimmel and a nice product too." I'm hesitant at first, but she got me to buy my first ever Rimmel product... way to go girl! It's a Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed powder and their Natural Bronzer (which I actually end up liking lol).

Then... I came across a review from some of the Filipina youtubers raving about some Rimmel's. Then I tried to search for it too. I found some good reviews of their lipsticks and so on... I told myself, "why not try it."

So, here it is now... my very first Rimmel London Lipstick 💄

I was just a bit disappointed on how they sealed this baby. They just put a tape around the opening area; which is so hard to peel off and get super sticky after. It's like, "Hey, do you really want me to try you on or not?"

But...

Don't judge the book by its cover!?!

I actually end up liking this baby too... And since I'm getting chapped lips this past weeks, I can't wear full matte lippies. And even though this claims to be a matte finish lip product, it doesn't feel like it. It's still feels a bit glossy on my lips and it's not drying at all.

The color payoff is great and is nice for everyday use. Also, it smells (and taste?) like a berry gum ♥ pretty amazing, right?

If you've tried Wrigley's Extra chewing gum in strawberry... it really taste something like that haha

This has a unique packaging; which you do not normally get with other lip products.

It's like a trapezium in shape with a diamond top cover. 

The lipstick itself is in a different shape too.. It's like an oval...

I think I paid around 47 or 49 AED for this (sorry if I can't remember the exact price of it).

As I've mentioned, I've been liking this so far and I'm thinking of getting other shades too...

MAC Tendertalk Lip Balm 💋💄

Hello...

I'm back again for another MAC lip product.

I've been wanting to try MAC's lip balm for weeks now and I even went to the mall during the sale season to check out for it, but to no luck, the lippie I'm looking for is not available in store. I was told to check out their other stores or most probably, get it online instead as some products aren't available in stores. I felt so sad and disappointed that time...

I so like how MAC pick out the packaging for this lip balm. The holographic design gives this lippie a more sophisticated feel.

 This is how the product looks like on my lips...

I really love the color payoff of this lip balm on my lips. 

This is good as well for every day use especially during winter or summer season where our lips tend to dry up the most.

I don't use matte lipsticks when I have dry and cracked lips. It feels uncomfortable and I think, mattes will worsen the dryness of my lips; so I preferred lip balms.

I will try out the rest of the shades and will surely share it with you ♥
