Health (Growth Pain)

I'm a first-time blogger. I have always been a frustrated writer. Since I was a kid, I keep a notebook with me and that little thingy is my so-called “Diary”. I have pile and pile of these cute decorative notebooks back in the province. Since I’m living now here in Manila, that stuff that I used to collect was all left in a box inside our storage room. I’m not even too sure if most of it is still in there but when I made a short visit last year, I even got to read one of my ‘Diaries’. What’s so funny about it is that, at the end of each note, there’s a so-called P.S. stuff that I wrote and it described what I wore that particular day. Then suddenly, all good memories flashes back.

I have decided again to start what I used to love back when I was a kid. This time, it will be more different. I will make it a little more public, as I will let you guys take a peek of my life, stuffs I love, interests, places I visited, food… AND MORE!!!

I will start everything with a little bit of self-intro. I am Tata, as I prefer to be called. I’m 28 years old and I have a cute 3-year old kid named Basty. I am head-over-heels in love “NOW” with my fiancé’ Rey and prefers to stay as is till I grow old hehe J

You’ll get to know more of me as you follow me on this Journey.. J

1st Entry…

HEALTH

Last Feb. 9th, Sunday around 3 in the morning. My Dear and I woke up to a soft cry of our little Basty. He said his right knee is aching and is too painful. He’s asking me if I can massage it as it soothes the pain a bit. I was so worried that time and am almost teary, so Dear told me that we should bring him for check up in the morning. I can’t bear to see him cry so I did a little research right then and there.

I googled – KNEE PAIN in kids

I came across about 11, 000, 000 results for it but 3 topics got me interested.

Ø  Osgood-Schlatter Disease - KidsHealth

Ø  Knee Pain in Kids - St. Louis Children's Hospital

Ø  Growing Pains: When Should Parents Worry? - WebMD

“I have read that “Growth Pain” is normal and typically occur between ages 3 and 7.  Doctors say the pain is triggered when bones grow. However, according to the American Academy of Pediatrics, these pains have been linked to particularly active days and not growth. Growing pains are real discomforts for many children; often growing pains can awaken children from sleep.”

It lessens my worries upon reading it. But of course we still decided to bring him to a Doctor.

He woke up early and we observed how he is doing. No signs of him of any pain at all. He plays like he normally does… Crawls… jump… run… NO PAIN can be observed. Still, being a paranoid Mom, I told Dear that we should still bring him to a Doctor for a checkup.

Since we’re MediCard members, as part of our company’s benefits, our son is entitled of such as well. We brought him to MediCard Festival Mall Alabang. We arrived at 3:20PM and to our dismay, the Pediatrician is off shift already. We were advised that their Pedia only works until 3:00PM L But what’s good about their staff is that they still offer another option. They asked what / who has complaints and asks us if we would like our son to be checked by their General Doctor. We of course agreed for it. While waiting for our turn. We decided to take a photo and read stuffs that are available at the vicinity.

How cute my Langgas are xoxo
